Our very own fiber expert Jan Parson will be starting a new series of knitting classes beginning May 17!
Jan has declared 2017 her Year of Selfish Knitting. All of Jan's classes this year will be based on patterns she loves which have been adapted to use yarn from our shop!
"This year, I'm not doing any 'have-to' knitting, only 'want-to' knitting. If you don't love what you're doing, don't do it!" - Jan Parson
Jan will begin her Year of Selfish Knitting with the Zigzag Scarf.
Ten Stitch Zigzag by Frankie Brown
The Zigzag Scarf was adapted from the Ten Stitch Zigzag afghan pattern by Frankie Brown. Worked on just ten stitches, these garter stitch zigzag strips are joined as you go so there is no sewing up! It looks hard but is so simple once you get the hang of it.
Fun to make and fun to wear, the Zigzag Scarf makes people smile every time they see it. Jan's scarf adaptation of this pattern takes 2 skeins of Cascade Yarns Melilla.
This 2-part class will begin on Wednesday, May 17 from 5:30pm to 7pm, with a finishing class to be scheduled at a later date.
Stay tuned for more classes in the Year of Selfish Knitting series this summer!
