Knitted Knockers are handmade breast prosthesis for women who have undergone mastectomies or other procedures to their breasts.
Traditional breast prosthetics are usually expensive, heavy, and uncomfortable. They typically require special bras or camis with pockets and can’t be worn for weeks after surgery.
Knitted Knockers, on the other hand, are soft, comfortable, beautiful and when placed in a regular bra they take the shape and feel of a real breast. A full history of Knitted Knockers is available at knittedknockers.org.
Our Knitted Knockers Club meets once a month for anyone who would like to help create Knitted Knockers for donation.
There are patterns for both knitters and crocheters, and an instructor will be available to help those who need assistance with completing their projects.
There are no club fees, but participants are asked to buy their yarn. Registration is preferred for planning purposes but not required.
First Friday of the month from 11am to 1pm
