2018 I-75 Yarn Crawl
August 7-12, 2018
This is our first year participating in the I-75 Yarn Crawl!
Our shop's knitting instructors will be available to make suggestions and answer questions, samples will be available, and specialty kits are being assembled to make your selection easy!
Looking for a special project? Stop in and talk to Jan Parson about the Survivor Shawl!
Jan is the author of the Knitting: A Love Story blog and she will be our designer-in-residence during the Yarn Crawl.
One of her many fabulous creations is the Survivor Shawl, originally created for breast cancer survivors.
The project is knit from a Magic Ball of Yarn, and each one is unique:
I am excited to share this project. It is so simple but so intriguing...After 60, I was never bored. I think that was because of the excitement of the Magic Ball and the joy of where the shawls were going...Bringing individual colors together to form the shawl represents all of those things breast cancer survivors have in common. Just as each fiber is beautiful on its own, so is each survivor. Bringing fibers and survivors together creates something spectacular.
First Survival Shawl
We will have Magic Balls available and ready for purchase, as well as a sample shawl on display. Jan will be visiting the shop at various times throughout the week and loves meeting new knitters, so stop by and share your stories with her!
Of course we'll also have sales and specials to thank those who come to visit us during this time. Yarn Crawlers with a Passport will receive a free gift, be entered into a prize drawing, receive special pricing on selected yarns, and receive a free project bag with a purchase of $40 or more! We'll also be open on Sunday, August 12 to accommodate working crawlers!
Visit the I-75 Yarn Crawl website to learn more and purchase your passport online.
